BenQ BL2420 PT doesn't work with Macbook Pro

Gita Jul 06, 2018 07:50PM CDT

I just bought this monitor. I have a MBP mid-2014 model. Connected the monitor with HDMI cable to the computer. The computer recognizes that there is an external monitor attached and it's a BenQ. But the BenQ monitor does not show anything. It says "no cable connected" when I turn it off and on again.

I've tried connecting via the provided USB cable too. With this cable, the computer does not detect the external monitor at all.

What is the solution?

Hello Gita,

Connecting with an HDMI should work. First I would try a power reset of both devices. Please pull the power from the monitor and reset the laptop.

If you are receiving a “no cable connected” – please try to change the input on the monitor. Push the button on the monitor and select the cable connection type you are using.

The USB does not provide the Audio and Video through that cable/port.
