BenQ BL3201PH UHD cycles on and off

Dave Jun 04, 2018 02:51PM CDT

I have a BL3201PH hooked up directly to a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) via a DisplayPort to USB-C cable. I have an ongoing problem in which the panel switches to black and back again after a second or two (it's happened twice while I'm typing this). It doesn't happen every day. Sometimes the problem resolves itself, other times I shut the machine down, take a break for a few minutes, then bring it all back up again.

I have a OWC Thunderbolt 3 hub plugged into another USB-C port, but this display is on its own. Any idea what I can do to make this problem go away?

Hello Dave,

Sorry to hear about the blacking out issue you are having. Can you try a different cable bypassing any adapter or hub?

Have you tried changing the Hz frequency from 59Hz to 60Hz or visa versa? (If Mac will allow that)

Are you graphics card and drivers all up to date?

If testing proves it’s in the panel we can set up an RMA matching your warranty status.

Your Case ID is 114162

PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE WITH YOUR RMA PAPERWORK

  • Please save the form and then fill it out and return the attached e-form(s) and a proof of purchase by replying to this email. You should be able to fill out the form on your computer, save & return to us. We prefer e-form via email for readability and accuracy, but can accept faxes at the number on the form, if that’s more convenient for you. Once we received, we can complete the processing and will return to you an RMA number, if approved, and shipping information.
