GW2765 monitor "installed", but not working

Chelsea Stowell Jan 23, 2018 08:01AM CST

Dear BenQ -

I just bought a new Windows 10 PC and am trying to connect it to my BenQ LCD monitor. I connected via HDMI, turned on the monitor, and used the side buttons to select HDMI input. But the monitor displayed "no cable connected" and auto-shut off. I pulled up my Device Manager to see if the PC was registering the monitor's presence. It wasn't detecting anything in the Settings Display section. I saw that there were two copies of "Generic PnP Monitor" installed under "Monitor", so I uninstalled one and updated the driver on the other to the BenQ provided driver from the site. When I restarted, I saw "BenQ GW2765" displayed under "Audio inputs and outputs" and under "Monitors".

But the monitor is still not working. When I turn it on, it doesn't respond to any menu buttons and turns itself off in a few seconds. It won't display anything or make any sound. When I click for device properties in Device Manager, I get that the devices are working correctly.

Can you help me? I like my monitor, I want to keep using it! Thanks.
