I just opened my SW2700PT and the only DisplayPort cable it has is a DP 1.2 to Mini-DP. My graphics card which is one of the latest, the NVIDIA GTX 1080 does not support Mini-DP, but it does support DP. Why wouldn't BenQ just include a DP-to-DP cable? I do not want to use HDMI as I need the highest resolution, color bit, and refresh rate possible which only DisplayPort can provide. Where was the logic in this? I'm highly disappointed that I have to purchase another cable to be able to plug the monitor into a modern graphics card and I don't even know if the cable will work since BenQ always recommends using only the cables it provides.
Sorry you are upset about the cable. That cable is actually the most commonly used DP cable. Your configuration may be different from the cables provided.
You should be able to find the correct cable that will fit your configuration on Amazon, Fry’s Electronics or even Best Buy.
