After the "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709" was installed automatically by Windows Update, the BenQ gw2765ht monitor stopped working. It displays "Out of Range" and then a black screen. No recommended fixes that I've seen on the internet actually fix the problem (including changing Hz setting, reinstalling drivers, etc.)
BenQ Support Reps should work with Microsoft immediately to resolve this problem. The bug basically renders the monitor useless and makes customers think that BenQ is at fault, whether justified or not.
I reverted to an earlier version of Windows 10 as a temporary workaround. However, Microsoft Windows 10 Update forces updates onto all home computers sooner or later, so that my temporary solution has a limited lifespan.
I will have to return the monitor to the seller within the 30 day return period if there is no solution to this problem. I can't risk owning a monitor that becomes useless after an inevitable Windows update.
Anyone experience this bug? Did you find a reliable fix?
It sounds like this may actually be an issue with your graphics card driver after the update. I would contact HP to see if they have an updated driver – they most likely do, as these are typically simple fixes.
If this issue occurred after a OS update unfortunately you might need to wait for either Windows to have a update or the graphic card company to update. The monitor supports a standard which might be HDCP or HDMI standard. Those source devices need to support that compliance. Please try to power cycle the monitor, remove the power cord for up to 2 minutes and then reconnect also a different cable. Let us know if the issue does continue.
