Difference IPS and VA panel in PD monitor series

Giovanni Cajas Oct 05, 2017 07:46AM CDT

Hi
I have a question about the PD monitor series: why the PD2700Q uses a IPS screen and his brother PD3200Q uses a VA panel, it is the difference notorious for photographic and video editing?

Typically VA panels have better contrast than IPS, but not quite as good on color reproduction, but still extremely close. It would be very difficult to tell the difference between VA and IPS with them next to each other. Most likely the choice was made based on available panels at each size, and their capabilities and specifications.

Both are 10-bit capable panels with 100% sRGB color space coverage
