USB input on Benq HT2150ST

Oriol Aug 01, 2017 06:48PM CDT

Hi, I'm considering buying the model HT2150ST given its short throw, but I have a doubt. I usually watch movies by directly pluging my USB external hard drive to my TV.
I've seen that the HT2150ST has a "1 x Mini-USB Type-B service", and I'm wondering if the projector will be able to play the movies using an adaptor to the USB 3.0 of the external disk.
Anyone could please help me?

many thanks

Hello Oriol,

That won’t work on the projector. Your TV must have a special feature built in it that decodes Divx most likely. Most TVs and Projectors do not have that feature built in.

You would need a computer or device that would decode the Divx codex and possibly AC3 audio codex.

A simple Roku box or Kodi box would fix that and you could plug it into anything.

Thanks
