dual link dvi not working on XL2411Z

Brandon Jan 12, 2016 02:41AM CST

Hello. I am trying to get my new Nvidia 3d vision kit working but cannot seem to do so because the setup wizard cannot seem to detect a "3d ready display". I find this funny because my gaming monitor says Nvidia 3d vision ready on it. It is the BenQ XL2411Z as described in the desription. So after a bit of searching around, I find out from here http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2621 that my monitor may need dual link DVI for this. I could be wrong of course since my monitor is supposed to be 144hz. However when I fiddle with the control buttons on the bottom of the monitor I find that I cannot change the input to DVI. I am sure that the DVI cable is securely plugged in to both PC and monitor alike. Currently I am using HDMI since that is what works. Any tips to get this working would be much appreciated!

Hi Brandon,

Make sure you are only using one cable at a time – Just the DVI-Dual Link cable. This is the only cable that will allow you to run 144Hz (HDMI is limited to 60Hz) as well as run nVidia 3D vision. Once you have only the DVI connected, you will use the buttons on the monitor, specifically the one second from the left, to change the input to DVI.
