ben xl2430t, maximun 120hz with DP-cable

samuel Oct 28, 2017 08:31AM CDT

Ive been running by xl2430t on 144hz with a DVI cable and bought a new graphics card.
Beqause my second screen only got DVI and VGA connectors i tried to change to a Displayport-cable.

With the DP-cable the maximun resolution is 120hz and the screen says that optimum resolution is 1920x1080@60hz.
Ive tried setting it to 144hz and the screen says "out of range" ive also tried to lower the resolution but it doesnt make a difference.

Is it possible to get 144hz through DP or do i gotta go back to the DVI cable?

Hello Samuel,

Sorry to hear you are having troubles getting to 144Hz. You can reach 144Hz with DVI-D and Displayport.

Are you using a DP 1.2 cable? Can you set your windows display adapter settings to 144Hz as well as your graphics card control panel?

If it is telling you “out of range” then it is the resolution going higher than it is allowed.

It has to be the cable. Please make sure it is a VESA compliant Display Port 1.2.

Thanks
